Randy White & Len Barker (03/23/13)

Randy White and Len Barker were signing autographs at the March Madness Show hosted by JP's Sports & Rock Solid Promotions in White Plains, NY.

Randy White played for the Dallas Cowboys (1975-1988) and was co-MVP of Super Bowl XII with Harvey Martin, who is deceased. He was inducted into the NFL Football Hall of Fame in 1994. The Dallas Cowboys also honored him with the Ring of Honor in 1994. He was nicknamed "Manster," half man, half monster.

For a guy who just turned 60 years old, Randy White looks like he's still in football shape. He is jacked up! He was a really cool guy to meet and even took a picture with me. He's the 3rd MVP of my Super Bowl MVP autograph collection.

Randy asked me if I was going to get any other players to sign the football. I told him this ball is just for him. He signed my Super Bowl XII football and added 5 inscriptions: Co-MVP SB XII, #54, H.O.F. 94, R.O.H. 94, and MANSTER! Inscriptions increase the value of an autograph and Randy took care of me. He is the man!

Len Barker was a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians (1979-1983). He is famous for throwing the 10th perfect game in Major League Baseball on May 15, 1981. Only 23 pitchers have tossed perfect games in MLB history.

Len is a very nice guy. He signed my MLB baseball and added his perfect game inscription, P.G. 5-15-81.

It was my first time attending a show hosted by JP's Sports & Rock Solid Promotions. I had a lot of fun going to this event with my uncle and meeting Randy White and Len Barker.

Randy Johnson & Roberto Alomar (03/16/13)

(Left) Randy Johnson, 2001 World Series MVP
(Right) Roberto Alomar, 2007 MLB Hall of Fame Inductee

Randy Johnson and Roberto Alomar made an appearance at the March Magic show, hosted by MAB Celebrity Services, in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. As I mentioned on my 01/26/13 blog post, I started collecting World Series and All-Star game MVP autographs on each year's Rawlings baseball. These two guys are a must have for my collection. Randy Johnson was the 2001 World Series MVP and Roberto Alomar was the 1998 All-Star MVP.

Randy Johnson was the first to arrive. He is a giant! At 6'10 with a fastball that clocked 100+ mph, he was one of the most dominant pitchers in the game. He's a World Series champion, 10x All-Star, 5x CY Young winner (best pitcher in league), and a first ballot Hall of Famer, once he's eligible in 2015.

He was so intimidating that when I approached him I forgot to take a picture of him signing my baseball. A man of few words, but a good guy. Randy signed my 2001 Official Rawlings World Series game baseball and inscribed it with 01 WS MVP.

My countryman, Roberto Alomar of Puerto Rico, arrived with a couple of his boys. He's considered to be one of the best second baseman in the history of the game. Roberto was a 12x All-Star, 10x Gold Glove, 2x World Series Champion, and 2007 MLB Hall of Fame inductee.

Roberto wasn't as intimidating as Randy, so I remembered to take a picture of him signing my baseball. He signed my 1998 Official Rawlings All-Star game baseball and inscribed it with 1998 A.S. MVP.

It was a pleasure meeting Randy and Roberto. MAB Celebrity Services always brings the best to New Jersey. Can't wait for the next event.

Tom Coughlin & Cal Ripken Jr. (03/06/13)

Tom Coughlin and Cal Ripken Jr. had a book signing on the same day. This was the first time I attended two book signings in one day. Thankfully, Tom's signing was in the afternoon and Cal's signing was in the evening.

(Right) Cal Ripken Jr, MLB Hall of Fame Inductee 2007
Tom Coughlin was signing his new book Earn the Right to Win: How Success in Any Field Starts with Superior Preparation at Barnes & Noble, Fifth Ave in New York. Tom coached the New York Giants to two Super Bowl championships (Super Bowl XLII & XLVI). He was very friendly and interactive with his fans. He told me he liked my Giants sweatshirt, which was pretty cool.

Tom signed the book with my blue sharpie. Unfortunately, they did not allow posed photography at this event, so I wasn't able to take a picture with him.

Later in the evening I headed over to Barnes & Noble in Clifton, NJ for Cal Ripken Jr.'s book signing. Cal Ripken Jr. was a 19-time MLB All-Star, 1982 Rookie of the Year, 1983/1991 American League MVP, 1983 World Series Champion, and 2007 MLB Hall of Fame Inductee. He was signing his new book Wild Pitch. It's the third book of the Cal Ripken Jr.'s All-Stars series for youth readers. Luckily, I was able to find his previous two books, Super-sized Slugger and Hothead, to get signed as well. Cal was also very friendly and spoke with everyone. He even took pictures with each person in front of a really nice back drop.

Cal signed all three books with my blue sharpie. I asked him to please inscribe "HOF 2007" with his autograph and he was happy to do so. I really appreciated that. Cal Ripken Jr. is the man!

It was a great signing day. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom Coughlin and Cal Ripken Jr. As always, Barnes & Noble did a great job hosting each event.
