David Eckstein, 2006 World Series MVP 2-time MLB All-Star & World Series Champion |
David Eckstein was a MLB All-Star in 2005 and 2006. He won the MLB World Series championship in 2002 with the Anaheim Angels and 2006 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the 2006 World Series. He retired from Major League Baseball in 2012.
David was in Trenton, New Jersey for his Trenton Thunder Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The Trenton Thunder are a Double-A Minor League Baseball team. David played for the Thunder in 1999, the year they won the division title with the best minor league team record.
The Thunder retired David Eckstein's #2 jersey. He joins Tony Clark, Nomar Garciaparra, and Jackie Robinson as the only four players to have their number retired by the Trenton Thunder.
David threw out the ceremonial first pitch of the game.
After the ceremony, David signed autographs for the fans on the concourse during the game.
David Eckstein signed my Rawlings 2006 Official World Series baseball and inscribed it with 06 WS MVP.
David was incredible with all the fans. He signed autographs for everyone on line, took pictures, and took the time to speak to each person. He told me he liked the pen I handed him to use. The ink flows smoothly and there's no skipping on the baseball. Uni-ball Jetstream 1.0 (blue ink) is the recommended pen for autographs on a baseball.
This was my first visit to Arm & Hammer Park and I had a great time. The Trenton Thunder did an excellent job with the ceremony. It was a pleasure meeting David Eckstein.
